The video tells you everything you need to know about watchmaker Daniel Malchert

Who is master watchmaker Daniel Malchert, and what is the story behind SCHLOSSBERG watch? The heart of the Malchert family has been beating for watches for four generations now. But until now, nobody has gone so far as to develop and build their own watch… The SCHLOSSBERG watch is inextricably linked to the city of Quedlinburg. The video shows the production of the model and the blazing passion that the master watchmaker has for his craft.

The Malchert watch SCHLOSSBERG

The SCHLOSSBERG watch has a timeless and refined character. Inside, clearly visible through the sapphire crystal back, a high-quality hand-wound movement, expertly hand-finished by Daniel Malchert himself, ticks away. While the movement’s architecture is traditionally German in style, its elegant simplicity and logical layout results in a contemporary appearance. The SCHLOSSBERG watch has an outer diameter of 36mm and is extremely flat for a mechanical watch, measuring just 6.5mm thick.
The name of Malchert’s inaugural timepiece is inspired by Quedlinburg’s most celebrated landmark, the Schlossberg. Overseeing the Unesco World Heritage city from a lofty vantage point, the Schlossberg is home to a historical collegiate church, established more than one thousand years ago. With such a ripe regional history, it follows that the SCHLOSSBERG watch is the first in a planned series of historically-grounded timepieces from Malchert.
